False Take Films: Current Open Roles
CHARLIE (late 20s - late 30s) - Charlie might want out of the bounty chasing life, but he’s still about as tough as they come. With no family left, his soul focus the past few years has been creating a life that can make Abigail happy. He’s quiet and brooding. Ain’t one for mincing words or small talk. But he is also caring. Devoted. Loyal. He is also fighting some secret demons.
BUTCH (late 20s - late 30s) - A storyteller by nature, Butch can weave a yard with some of the best of them. Unfortunately, in his eyes, he could never live a life worth writing about. Enter Charlie, a gun-slinging bounty hunter with something to fight for. The perfect subject for a legendary ballad. He’s been with Charlie for over a year now, helping him track down and take in outlaws and bandits as payment for the stories he will transform into song. If it was all business at first, that is a thing of the past. Butch sees Charlie as family, and his concern for his friend is apparent.
ABIGAIL (late 20s - late 30s) - A southern blonde belle, but anything but a helpless farmer's daughter. Abigail is tough as nails, she’ll go toe to toe with Charlie when he gets out of line. Like Charlie, she’s fiercely loyal; especially to her family. When her family ranch was in jeopardy, she rose to the challenge and made the tough decision to sacrifice her happiness to save her parents. Unsure how she’ll love anyone as much as she does Charlie, Abigail struggles to stay resolved in her choice as the wedding draws near.
CLARENCE (late 30s to late 40s) - If Charlie is Abigail’s rock, then Clarence is a pickaxe ready to break him. Jealousy and hubris seep out of his mouth when he speaks to Charlie, knowing he can never fill the hole losing Charlie will cause in Abigail’s heart. But happiness is not his goal, seizing ownership of the Herschel family ranch (which sits on a massive mineral deposit that has yet to be touched) is his only priority. Some gun-slinging pretty boy without a penny to his name will not stand in the way of his grand designs.
